Band

Students receive many benefits from the study of instrumental music: teamwork, mental discipline, increased self-esteem, and an enjoyment of and lifelong appreciation of music. Numerous studies indicate that music instruction is linked to improved reading and math skills.

Beginning in 5th grade, students have the opportunity to select a band instrument and study under the direction of Mr. Andrew Vogt. Students can choose from flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone or percussion instruments and participate in concerts and exciting classroom sessions throughout the year.

Mr. Vogt has been teaching band for more than 20 years and playing professionally for even longer! He performs throughout the country and has his own record label, Drew’s Blues.

Contact Mr. Vogt at (970) 631-9164 for further information about the band program at Saint Joseph Catholic School. Please note that there is a $400 fee for band class that is billed through FACTS monthly, quarterly, or yearly.

Students must register for band each year via the form on Sycamore under the Documents tab.
