Mr. Garcia is very excited and humbled to have been asked to serve as Interim Principal for Saint Joseph Catholic School. Hired last year to be our Physical Education teacher and Athletic Director, he looks forward to the opportunity to serve in a different capacity this year.
Prior to coming to Saint Joseph Catholic School, Mr. Garcia was a middle school teacher and coach for 30 years. Additionally, he served as a middle school athletic director for seven years. He holds a master’s degree in education, a master’s degree in educational administration, and completed his undergraduate work in occupational therapy at Colorado State University.
Mr. Garcia has lived in Fort Collins for 46 years, and his ties to Saint Joseph run deep, as his four children were all baptized at Saint Joseph Parish. 35 years ago, he was hired to be a volleyball coach and official for Saint Joseph Catholic School prior to completing his teaching certification.
When not serving the Saint Joseph Catholic School community, he lives his passions through running marathons and participating in CrossFit. He has completed nearly 40 marathons. He and his wife completed the London Marathon last April.
Along with his wife, Joy, he enjoys traveling, spending time with their children and new granddaughter, camping, and being outside. They also recently rescued a puppy! Both of them love being a part of the Saint Joseph community.
