Mrs. Olsen has been a teacher at Saint Joseph Catholic School for 12 years. She studied both education and psychology at the University of Colorado in Boulder. She taught in Catholic Schools in Boston, Massachusetts and Denver before moving to Fort Collins.

Mrs. Olsen has enjoyed teaching many subjects, but her present focus is teaching 5th grade. She enjoys challenging her students to be critical thinkers and creative problem solvers as they expand their knowledge through reading literature and practicing different types of writing. She enjoys using inquiry based projects in her classroom, especially math and science. Watching students grow in their faith and put into action through service to others is her favorite part of teaching at Saint Joseph Catholic School.

Mrs. Olsen and her husband have four children that have all attended Saint Joseph Catholic School. She is an active member of Saint Joseph Parish. She loves reading, cooking, working in her vegetable garden, and hiking with her family.
